4. Mix up the appointments

Offer short-term appointments or low-commitment positions.

5. Keep your board transparent

A tip is to open up your meetings, so your community knows what’s being discussed.

6. Make it easy to join

This might be obvious, but it’s not always the case.

7. If push comes to shove, remind them what happens when there’s a vacancy

Let’s hope it doesn’t come to this, but if it does – there may be rules in the documents about what happens when there’s a vacancy on the board.
